Kessil Lighting A150W LED Aquarium Light, A Closer Look
Posted on Thursday, March 17th, 2011 at 10:56 am by ReefToolsA few days ago, we reported the release of the Kessil Lighting A150W LED Aquarium Light. We wanted to report some updated details of this great little aquarium led spotlight. The Dense Matrix LED™ discussed in our initial article, packs 21 chips into an area smaller than a dime, resulting in intense output and smooth color mixing. The unique lens that goes over the platform helps draw out the most light possible. The addition of a simple reflector around the A150W LED helps focus the light a bit, and maximize intensity.
The A150W from Kessil Lighting has an integrated cooling system consisting of a specially selected fan that quickly draws heat away from the LED. This helps maintain both the lifetime and efficacy of the LED platform. The SRP for the light is $257.
The unit can either be hung, or mounted with the help a the Kessil Goosneck, which looks sweet!
Here are some more shots of the A150W.

looks like we finally may have an affordable led lighting solution for 6′ and longer tanks. what is the color temp, and approximate coverage for these fixtures?
Roy, Here is a link to the color temps/spectrum http://reeftools.com/news/kessil-lighting-presents-the-a150w-led-aquarium-light/ We’ll update coverage, etc shortly
After reading some of the comments left on YouTube concerning the quality of product from kessil I’m thinking they have a long way to go. Apparently the words “fire hazard ” have been used a lot.
