I'd like to add a big player in the food source was my heavy carbon dosing, VODKA, it helped keep the nitrates in check but the bigger benefit was the bacterial food source.
After a year or 2 I then started to feed Fauna Marin products along with the Reeds. Probably 5 different powder foods along with the 3 liquids. After a awhile of doing the 100.00 to 150.00 per month on food for a few months made me start to double think my hobby expenses...
The wife is calling, quick end to the tank was when I added a morish idol that brought in disease and it whipped out the whole tank, I paid someone 100 bucks to come get the tank when it was all said and done. Disgust about summed that up
It is smart to size the coral to meet the food, since you can't do the reverse easily (and not pollute the tank). Luckily dendronephthya and scleronephthya aren't that picky in food choices. Great pics.
