The new Ecoxotic Panorama Pro LED fixture is 24″ of sleek LED delight. This beautiful new, low-profile, modular LED fixture will not only look great over your tank, but also packs quite a punch. Each unit is powered by 5 Panorama Pro modules for a total of 95W of light, adjustable to almost any color spectrum. The Panorama Pro uses passive cooling to dissipate heat away from the tank and unit.
So, how adjustable is adjustable? You can dim each LED color group with an inline dimmer which will help you achieve the color temp you’re looking for. You can also move the modules left and right in order to control where the light spreads to. This is great in situations where your aquascaping, or coral placement may require more light in a particular area. You can also add additional Panorama Pro Modules, or any of the Ecoxotic Stunner LED strips. This lets you add some of those really cool magenta Stunner strips from Ecoxotic.
Each 24” Panorama Pro LED Fixture comes with five Panorama Pro LED Modules (three 12K White/445nm Blue and two 445nm Blue modules), black aluminum housing, two inline on/off switch with adjustable dimmer control, two 24V power supplies for dawn/dusk control, polished reflectors, two 3-way splitters, an EcoCham cleaning cloth and instructions.
Note: Mounting hardware is sold separately. Choose one of the four different mounting options per fixture below. See specification sheet for sizing recommendations and optional upgrades.

The popular Aqua Illumination SOL Super Blue LED system is now available in black. As a manufacturer of some of the most energy efficient lighting options on the market, Aqua Illumination has become quite popular with hobbyists over the past few years. The SOL is rated for over 50,000 hours, without requiring bulb replacements, making the fixture a smart long-term lighting solution.
To keep up with the new trends in LED design, AI decided to produce the SOL in a slick black version. The new, black SOL, gives the already streamlined design a cool, aesthetic choice, which some hobbyists may prefer (over the white fixtures).
This is an interesting move, with the new fixture from AI (the “Phoenix”) coming soon. What do you think of the new look?
Ecoxotic just keeps it coming. A few days ago, the company dedicated to “endangering the status quo” came out with 5 outstanding new color spectrums of Stunner LED strips. The extremely versatile line of Stunner LED strips is now available in:
452nm Actinic Blue
8000K White/453nm Blue
445nm Royal Blue
445nm Royal Blue/12000K White
From Ecoxotic: “Our customers love the versatility, linkable design and instant shimmer & coloring effects,” said Dennis Fredricks, president of Ecoxotic. “It’s all about having fun and with five new color spectrums, we’ve made the one minute LED upgrade an even better lighting solution for aquarists at all levels.”
The completely water-resistant, low voltage Stunner LED Strips, consume only 6 watts of power. Hobbyists are now able to very easily achieve their desired color spectrum by mixing and matching up to 10 6-watt Stunner LED Strips on each 60 watt driver. That’s absolutely beautiful. Similarly to T5 bulbs, you can now make slight adjustments by simply replacing one strip, until you are completely happy with the results. UNLIKE T5 bulbs, you will not need to replace these every 6-12 months.
We are very excited to see more and more applications using these versatile and modular LED strips. Check them out on the Ecoxotic website.

A couple of weeks ago, WingoLED provided a sneak preview of the WingoLED Actinic 2.0 LED Light Bars. WingoLED has made several improvements over their original model. They improved heat dissipation while using 1W LEDs for increased output. WingoLED also upgraded their materials for improved durability and water proofing. The Light Bars are available with either 60 or 90 degree optics. The 60 degree model is designed for hobbyists who want more punch and less spread, while the 90 degree options works well for nano/pico where the LED strip will be mounted low and require complete tank coverage.
At this point, 450nm royal blue, 460 regular blue and 12000K white, although color mixing will be considered in the future. Here is a chart of Suggested Retail Prices and power consumption.:
|48″ 36Watt||36″ 27 Watt||24″ 18W||12″ 9W||Power Supply||bracket|
|Suggested Retail Price||$248||$218||$178||$98||Included||Additonal|
Note: Actual prices may be lower.
HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamps are Metal Halide bulbs that are comparable to many of the commonly available HQI lamps in the reefkeeping hobby. Aquatic Life has chosen to use these single-ended G12 base 150 watt bulbs due to the fact that they can be installed in both a horizontal and vertical position. This, Aquatic Life says, provides much more versatility when it comes to fixture design and implementation. This flexibility allows Aquatic Life to offer reflectors that better direct the light, and having less light “spill” outside of the tank. For more information about the Aquatic Life HID Lamps, please visit the Aquatic Life Website.
- The G12-based lamps are very common overseas; European and Japanese companies have used the lamps for years. Since our fixtures incorporate ANSI Standard M81 ballasts, they are compatible with other manufacturer’s lamps.
- G12 lamps are a point source style light and will produce a dapple/shimmering effect over the aquarium!
Aquatic Life offers these HID bulbs in Natural White (6,000k), Ardent White (10,000k), Light blue (14,000k) and Medium Blue (20,000k), covering the complete aquarium spectrum of color temperatures.

The IceCap Reef Illuminations line is the latest and greatest from IceCap Inc. The IceCap Reef Illuminations line offers combinations of MH/T5/LED or T5HO/LED. The addition of actinic LED to the IceCap Reef Illuminations fixtures, seems to convey an understanding by IceCap Inc. of just how important aquarium appearance is, to today’s hobbyist. Although these LED lamps are unlikely to provide much in the form of added PAR, they should assist greatly in making corals pop. This might allow hobbyists to use lower K metal halide bulbs and still achieve the overall color temp they desire. We’re looking forward to getting our hands on one of the IceCap Reef Illuminations fixtures and checking it out.
The 28G Nano Cube LED model is the latest release by JBJ. Part of the popular Nano Cube Series, the 28g Nano Cube LED employs a high intensity LED illumination system which delivers both the power of Metal Halides and the coverage of T5 lighting. The distinct advantages of the LED model is 10x the light bulb lifespan, lower energy consumption, and cool running.
28G JBJ Nano Cube LED – a closer look
The high-intensity LED lighting used by JBJ in this nano tank, offers increased PAR while using less energy. The new canopy offers a complete 24 hour light cycle with:
- Daylight – 25 x 3 Watt – 14K
- Dawn/Dusk – 4 x 3 Watt – Actinic/466nm
- Moon – 2 x 1 Watt – Nite-Vu/456nm
Sick of buying new bulbs? How about once every 10 years!! The 89 watt LED system in this 28g Nano Cube outputs PAR comparable to that of the 150W HQI – 14K model, while consuming approximately 40% less energy. LEDs radiate heat upwards, rather then downwards, and therefore reduce heat transfer and the all-to-common need for a chiller. To ensure cool running (Not the movie!) JBJ employed an aluminum heat sink, which quickly dissipates the heat put out by the LEDs. 4 cooling fans are turned on in unison with the lighting, and a thermal protector has been added with an auto shut off feature, in case the fans fail.
A common modification of the all-in-one nano tanks is the implementation of a refugium. JBJ makes everything easy as pie by providing a dedicated chamber for macro algae, alongside the activated carbon and sponge. The sponge helps prevent the algae from reaching and clogging the return pump.
The redesigned Ocean Pulse Duo now uses a memory chip to ensure consistent performance, even after a power failure. The Ocean Pulse Duo provides variable flow. Increments can be set anywhere between 10 seconds to 6 minutes in alternating cycles.
